The SureSafe Family Monitored Personal Alarm is a simple pendant or wrist-worn alarm that is not connected to a 24/7 monitoring service. Instead, if the SOS button is pressed, the alarm will call up to 3 nominated friends or family members until the call is answered. When answered they are able to talk to the wearer through the worn device to understand what’s wrong. The alarm is fully waterproof so it can be worn in the shower and bath, where falls are most common. Because it is family monitored, you won’t pay monitoring costs (which are around £20/month), but you will need to pay the equivalent of £9/month for the SIM cost, in addition to the device cost. It even has automatic fall detection that sets the alarm off if there has been a fall.
